Grid-scale tidal storage, 1/3 the cost of lithium.
$4,300,000 raised of $5,000,000 (86%) · minimum $25,000
The pitch
Grid-scale energy storage at one-third the cost of lithium — powered by the tide.
Problem
Coastal grids across ASEAN are adding renewables faster than they can store them. Lithium is expensive, degrades, and carries fire and supply-chain risk. Without cheap long-duration storage, the energy transition stalls at the coast.
Solution
Tidewatt builds modular gravity-tidal storage: we use predictable tidal motion to lift and release mass, storing energy mechanically. No rare earths, 30-year asset life, and a levelised cost ~1/3 of lithium for long-duration discharge.
Traction
- 4MWh pilot array deployed off Jurong, Singapore
- 81% round-trip efficiency sustained over 18 months
- Two binding utility LOIs (contingent on type certification)
- Zero capacity degradation observed to date
About
Tidewatt builds modular gravity-tidal storage for coastal grids. First 4MWh array deployed off Jurong; LOIs from two ASEAN utilities. Accredited-only round under MAS rules.
